In comparison with the property, 7577,8 ha are communal forests and rest of
2033,5 ha are private group properties.
Situated
in the utmost western hills of Zarandul Mountains, the woods administrated
by river Mures, to the westside by Arad’s plain and vineyard, to te
North by the river Crisul Alb Plain and to the eastside there’s a continuation
of the wooden mass from Zarandul Mountains.
The altitudinal surface on which is extending our forests is between 105 m
in the river Crisul Alb plain, besides the town Ineu and 804 m Highis Peak.
This vertical distribution leads to a great variety of forests concerning
the phytoclimatic levels and the forestry typology.
Going from the plain towands the mountain you come across the oak forests
and mixtures of oaks (different species of Quercus sp, ash tree, sycomore
maple, hornbeam) then the uphill forests (with a rich mixture of valuable
species) and pure oak tress; finally there are the beech forests.
Just on the hills line, covered with forests, it had been set up since historical
times a sequence of many flourishing villages, taking into consideration their
settlement into a natural background rich in rivers, tillable plats, grazing
fields and forests; in a word favorable for the development of all farming
branches, for the manufacturing industries and also for trade.
The forest represented for the inhabitants and the owners from the area an
unceasing advantage source offering aswell the necessary house-hold wood as
being also an income source both by the involvement of a certain part of population
into the forests activities and by wood’s monetary values.
Through its entire activity, the „Zarandul Forestry” wishes to
bring back the forest closer to the villagers, to make them aware of the rights
they have and how to gain from them as well in money as in goods, to be fully
aware of their obligations for protecting their wealth, so that to perform
the forest’s functions uninterrupted. Through all these, the Forestry
contributes to the prosperity of the communities around and by its colaboration
with the local administrations it obviously develops the countryside areas.
For carrying out the wishes expressed above, the forestry administers an the
associated members surfaces an annual volume of wooden mass, established trough
forest planning as about 36500 m.c., from whish 16500 m.c. oaks, 5000 m.c.
beech, 2000 mc lime, 2500 robinia, 9300 m.c. hardessences, 500 soft essences
and 700 m.c. resinous wood.
An another goal of forest management is the rising of forests quality including
plantations (about 30ha/year), carrying young forest, etc.
Every year, we propose to citizens, especially to the youth, activities regarding
the knowledge, the understanding and the appreciation of the enviroment and
especialy the forest as a most important part of ecosystems, educating the
people to respect the nature.
